"You Are"
This week promises fun, friendships, and faith. Whether or
not we like to admit it, our lives are saying something out
loud about God, to a watching world. What is your life
saying in this sentence: "God...You are_______." Isaiah
makes his life song clean in the above mentioned Scripture
when he says: "O Lord, you are my God". Now it's time
for each of us to fill in the blank part of or life song...
"O Lord, you are_______".
We live in a time when many have loosened their grip on
the hope of Christ. Who would have thought that it could be
this much fun to prepare for eternity? The music will be
awesome! There will be fun, games, and even quiet time.
Register early to make sure you can attend this week of camp
because we were almost filled up in 2009!

"The Path"
If there is one thing obvious to most adults it is that
people are making some pretty bad choices these days...
particularly young people. People don't make bad choices
out of necessity or because they are forced into it,
they make bad choices because they seldom consider the
consequences that follow those choices. "Live for the
moment!", "Don't worry about tomorrow!", Do what you
want now!" have become a way of life for Generation X.
The rock music group, Monster Magnet, describes it
pretty well, I think.
"You'll never find your pleasure if you worry about your
pain; and your precious little details are stretchin'
out of my brain; Well, you spin around and bite your
nails, now let me tell you, son; That you can't trust
anybody if you can't trust number one." (Live for the
Moment)
Everyone is on a path
that is leading somewhere: you, me, everyone! We choose
the paths we take. The paths we choose lead to
predictable destinations. Knowing that the paths we
choose now will save us loss, embarrassment and regret
later is something well worth our attention and effort.
During our week of camp we will investigate and
determine where we are in our lives right now. We will
uncover how we got there and how to get on the path that
leads us to where we want to be.
Some things you might
expect during the week are awesome games, walking, trail
hiking, dirt/mud, bugs, no hot showers, no electricity,
and more fun than is legally possible. The food will be
the best you've had and the faculty the greatest you've
met. It will be a camp experience you'll never forget.
We'll be going of campus on Thursday July 22nd to the
Elkhorn Creek in Franklin County to do some wading and
swimming, so bring some old clothes, old shoes, and a
signed permission form. (available at registration)

"Wasteland"
Hebrews 12:1 says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded
by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily
entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race
marked out for us." In life, too often we hold onto
lots of things that don't matter. We pile up sin,
guild, shame, and fear until we're eventually living
in a garbage dump - a spiritual wasteland. But what
if we let go? What if we threw off everything that's
holding us back from abundant life and a true
relationship with Jesus? Interested? Then join us
for Senior 2! As always we'll play some awesome (and
gross) games.
